Welcome to the Network, Cyber Security and Digital Forensic Lab/Wing (NCSDF Lab/Wing), a dedicated research laboratory as a Network and Security Wing of the Laboratory for ICT Research and Development (LICT), Institute of Engineering (IOE), Tribhuvan University (TU). As a research wing of LICT, this lab is established at the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Pulchowk Campus, IOE, TU.
As the digital world continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, modern societies increasingly rely on secure, resilient, and intelligent communication infrastructures. Emerging technologies such as cyber security, Quantum security, cloud computing, software-defined networking, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain, and next-generation mobile networks have created remarkable opportunities while simultaneously introducing complex cybersecurity challenges. Addressing these challenges requires cutting-edge research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous innovation.
The NCSDF Lab has been established with the vision of becoming a center of excellence in networking, cybersecurity, and digital forensic research. Our mission is to advance knowledge through high-quality research, develop innovative technologies, foster academic excellence, and contribute practical solutions to contemporary security challenges faced by industries, government organizations, and society.
The laboratory provides an advanced research environment where faculty members, researchers, students, and industry collaborators can work together on frontier research in multiple security areas including network architecture, cyber defense, ethical hacking, malware analysis, digital forensics, cloud and IoT security, software-defined and programmable networks, blockchain security, cyber threat intelligence, AI-driven security analytics, privacy-preserving technologies, cyber resilience, and many more.
Beyond research, the laboratory is committed to nurturing highly skilled professionals capable of addressing the cybersecurity demands of the digital era. We encourage innovation through collaborative research projects, industry partnerships, international cooperation, research publications, technology development, professional training, and knowledge sharing. We believe that meaningful research should not only advance academic understanding but also generate tangible societal impact by strengthening digital trust and national cyber resilience.
As a research wing of LICT, the NCSDF Lab serves as a platform for multidisciplinary collaboration that bridges academia, industry, government, and international research communities. We are committed to promoting ethical research practices, responsible innovation, and sustainable technological development that benefit society as a whole.
I warmly invite researchers, students, professionals, industry partners, government agencies, and international collaborators to join us in advancing research and innovation in networking, cybersecurity, and digital forensics. Together, we can develop secure, intelligent, and trustworthy digital technologies that contribute to Nepal's digital transformation and the global advancement of information and communication technologies.
Thank you for visiting our laboratory. We look forward to collaborating with you in shaping a safer, more secure, and digitally empowered future.
